TEAM:STACK visits Taste Tradition

Earlier this year we took some time off the grill to pay a visit to the fine folk behind the dry aged, grass fed, rare and traditional breed beef you are all familiar with here at Meat:Stack. Charles Ashbridge, managing director, and his team are producing the best quality beef you can get your hands on and we are privileged to be one of the few people that they choose to supply with their incredible produce. We had a blast learning about the farm to table process that they swear by and feeding the awesome team that make it happen.

Two of the most important things to us at Meat:Stack are the quality of our food and supporting local businesses wherever we can. We aren't just obsessed with consistency, we also constantly strive to improve our offering and stay ahead of the game. The beef in our Cheeseburgers is the single most important ingredient we source and the beef that we get from Taste Tradition produces what we think are the tastiest and juiciest patties that we have ever had! They also supply our bespoke free range pork and fennel breakfast patties and our smoked streaky bacon, along with any specialist meat we use for our specials throughout the year.

We took the patty wagon with us and as well as meeting the team, we let them see for themselves how the beef they work so hard to produce helps us create the best burger possible.

It's fair to say the food went down incredibly well with everyone, especially Charles who was quick to comment on the incredibly beefy flavour that is a result of the top quality beef and the smashing and steaming technique that we swear by.

We had a wonderful conversation with Charles and he gave us a tour of how everything both on the farms and in the factory come together in a lengthy and precise process to get the very best out of his produce. We were shown exactly which cuts of beef go in the patties, how they are made and we also donned some beard nets and had a go at doing a few bits ourselves (let's leave it to the pro's though in future!).

In conclusion, the work ethic and commitment to the craft at Taste Tradition is something else and is what sets them apart from any normal butchery. We absolutely loved learning more about what they do and meeting and feeding the hard working team behind it all. We hope you enjoy the mini documentary.
